What we do

Compliance disciplines that hold up under scrutiny.

Seven core disciplines, applied to whichever regulatory environment your operation sits in.

Safety audits

On-site and documentation audits that identify gaps before regulators or incidents do.

Risk management

Identifying, assessing and mitigating operational, stakeholder and community risk before it escalates.

Signature

Regulatory advisory & ESG

Policy interpretation, gap analysis and environmental, social & governance frameworks built to last.

Audit & assurance

Third-party review and corrective-action planning that stands up to inspection.

POPIA & PAIA compliance registration

Ensuring your organisation is properly registered with the required regulators under South Africa's POPIA and PAIA legislation — not just policy on paper.

ISO 9001 implementation

Building and embedding quality management systems suited to your operation's scale and sector.

Enterprise & Supplier Development

Supporting BEE-compliant companies and small businesses through structured development — a core requirement of BEE scorecard compliance.

Who we work with

Built for regulated industries, proven in mining.

Compliance, risk and ESG discipline doesn't change by sector — the regulations do. We work across:

Mining
Construction
Manufacturing
Energy
Maritime
Logistics

Our strongest track record to date is in mining — see the case studies below — with active engagements extending into construction.

Proven results

Stakeholder alignment, in practice.

Details below are anonymised to respect client confidentiality and NDA terms.

Mining sector

Stakeholder alignment & community risk mitigation

The challenge

A mining operation faced rising tension between the business, its contracted stakeholders, and the surrounding community, who felt their needs weren't being addressed — risking escalation into violent conflict and operational disruption.

The approach

Drafted a Service Level Agreement structured to work for all parties, prioritising BEE-compliant companies to meet regulatory and transformation obligations. Resolution centred on closing the communication gap between business decisions and community concerns.

Result: a measurable reduction in violence and community strikes, and a stable, agreed framework for ongoing stakeholder relations.
Construction sector

Stakeholder alignment & community risk mitigation

The challenge

A construction project faced friction between the business, contracted stakeholders, and local community members who felt sidelined from decisions directly affecting them — a risk factor for site disruption and unrest.

The approach

Drafted a Service Level Agreement covering all parties, engaging BEE-compliant contractors to satisfy compliance and transformation requirements, with two-way communication at the centre of the resolution.

Result: a measurable reduction in community-related conflict and a workable, agreed framework for the project's duration.
Founder of BT Leadership & Compliance Consultants
About BTLCC

Compliance that holds up because everyone understands it.

Compliance Executive Director, since 2024

BT Leadership & Compliance Consultants was founded on a simple observation: too many organisations — and the communities they operate alongside — lack real awareness of what compliance actually requires, and why it matters to everyone involved, not just the business.

Holding an MBA, a CISA certification from the Compliance Institute of South Africa, and Directors Association certification, our founder brings governance-level thinking to compliance work that too often gets treated as a box-ticking exercise. Her background spans safety, risk, ESG and regulatory advisory, with particular depth in stakeholder and community risk management.

As a member of the Directors Association, she draws on strengthened board readiness and a grounding in ethical governance, along with structured access to opportunities across the public, private and civil society sectors — bringing that same rigour to how BTLCC's own organisation is run, including full adherence to POPIA and PAIA through proper registration with the required regulators.

That's why BTLCC exists: compliance that only protects the business isn't complete compliance. The strongest frameworks are the ones that hold up because every party — regulators, communities, contractors and leadership alike — understands and trusts the process.
